News and fans' stories Latest news AccessibAll visits Celtic FC to meet with club representatives and disabled fans Members of the AccessibAll team recently had the opportunity to meet with the Disability Access Officer, Alexis Dobbin, Supporter Liaison Officer, John-Paul Taylor, and other club staff at Scottish Premiership club, Celtic FC at their stadium. Celtic FC is a club that has consistently shown unwavering dedication to supporting disabled fans, and we were delighted to be invited to Celtic Park to see some of the accessible viewing areas that are available. This included wheelchair user spaces in the Tommy Burns View and View 67 areas of the stadium, as well as other facilities, including accessible toilets and entrances. The AccessibAll representatives were able to offer advice on possible improvements to signage, toilet door handles and flushes while being shown around the stadium. We also received the latest updates from the club, highlighting their continuous efforts and advancements in continuing to make the matchday experience at Celtic Park accessible and inclusive for all. AccessibAll was also pleased to attend a meeting between Celtic FC and several of their disabled fans. Chris McKay, the club’s Chief Financial Officer opened the meeting by thanking all the fans who were present. Topics discussed included away ticket policies for disabled supporters, lift access to elevated viewing areas, and stewarding. Throughout the meeting, there was positive and detailed discussions on several issues with Celtic outlining areas in which further developments will be taking place. Celtic confirmed that meeting minutes will be issued in due course. AccessibAll also offered our expert advice on areas such as pricing of match tickets, companion tickets and solutions to help ease issues with lift access. DAO Alexis Dobbin commented, “Communication with our disabled fans is key to making sure matchdays at Celtic Park are an enjoyable, safe and inclusive experience for all. Meetings like this one are beneficial for us as a club, and also for fans to be able to hear directly from different members of club staff. Dialogue between both is essential and something we will continue to do throughout the upcoming season”. “We would like to thank Amy and Hollie for attending today.
